The Client Who Came Back
A phone call, three or four months later, that told me more about our value than any proposal ever could.
By Andrew Atkinson, Elite DJ/MC & Sales Manager, GTE Event Group

Last year, I met with a couple who was considering GTE Event Group for their wedding.
The consultation itself wasn’t anything unusual. We sat down, talked through their wedding day, discussed what they envisioned, and I explained how our team could help bring that experience together.
We had a great conversation, but they didn’t book that day.
I followed up the next day, again the following week, and eventually a few weeks later. That’s when I learned they had decided to continue looking elsewhere. Pricing and the overall cost of the wedding had become a factor.
I understood. I thanked them for considering us, wished them the best, and assumed that was the end of the story.
Three or four months later, my phone rang.
“Is this Andrew?”
A little confused, I said yes and asked how I could help.
“I’m not sure if you remember me, but we met a few months ago about my wedding.”
I remembered him.
He explained that he had just attended his best friend’s wedding. Coincidentally, his friend had also looked into GTE for his own wedding but ultimately decided to hire a less expensive DJ.
Unfortunately, his experience hadn’t gone the way he’d hoped.
After the wedding, his friend gave him a piece of advice:
““Hey man, if you can, and you have the budget to allocate a little more, spend a little more and invest in GTE Event Group. I wish I did, and I think you should.”
That conversation with his best friend was the reason he was calling me again months later.
Ultimately, the couple came back and booked GTE. Their wedding was a wonderful night, and they had a great experience with our team.
But what stayed with me wasn’t simply that we earned the booking.
It was where the recommendation came from.
This wasn’t a past GTE client telling his friend how great his experience had been. It was someone who didn’t choose us, experienced the alternative, and then told one of his closest friends not to make the same decision he did.

What we’re really asking couples to consider
For me, that call became a reminder of what we’re really asking couples to consider when they choose GTE.
We’re not always going to be the least expensive option. And sometimes a couple may not fully understand the difference when they’re looking at numbers on a proposal.
But the true cost of a service isn’t always understood until the experience is over.
And unlike a lot of purchases in life, you don’t get another chance at your wedding day.
Let’s talk through your wedding.
No pressure and no obligation. Just a conversation about the night you’re imagining and what it takes to get there.
